Deegan update

Deegan finished 23rd out of 38 drivers, a true mid pack effort with brake trouble for the multiple year under contract driver. On to 100. ;)

Not sure why she choked so bad at the end there. From 3rd place to 12 so fast. Was really excited to see a top 5 then it evaporated 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t know if that car is junk, but if she and the car are capable, she’s gotta put herself up front more often and earn some trust. If you ride in the back all day and find yourself up front late due to the cautions, good luck finding a parter to push you. The other drivers aren’t going to work with you if they have zero idea as to how you or your car works in the draft. Again, I don’t know if she’s always out back because of the car or because she’s too nervous to be in the hornets nest.

The recent page count rate is very discouraging. I just went back to check a single random page (exhibit page # 30) for a comparison, and it only took five days for us to complete that page.

I am sure that somewhere along the way, we did complete a single page in less than a day. If there were more time, I would find that page, but my personal trainer and posting coaches are currently advising me to save and rest my fingers for the intense posting during Sunday's upcoming races at Monoco, Indianapolis, and Charlotte.

Getting back to the urgency of the moment, we started on page number 65 on March 27th. We are now on the 58th day of this page, with this here being only the 14th post for the page. Which means that at the current rate it is taking us more than four days to get a single post, and we will not achieve or see page # 66 until early September.

I just don't know what the future holds for a thread among so many shameless, slothful sluggards.

But I thought once she got to Xfinity she was going to be the next Jimmie Johnson? Maybe she just needs to go to cup to start winning races.

I love the way she is just living her life to the fullest and enjoying it. That sucked that she broke a rod in her engine while running P-2, but it was pretty cool to see her get out of the car and not throw a tantrum like so many other drivers would have done. I think she is a pretty good role model for younger girls.

Those two were having a ball.

The hyperbole is absurd. No one said she was going to be Jimmy anyone. Some thought that the xfinity car might make her competitive and we certainly want to see more competitive women in the sport. I thought she had a better chance. She did. I am not going to scroll back and find it but I think 10 races should have been enough to show if she was going to spark at this level. The answer appears to be “not so much”. It’s a disappointment for a sport that needs to do a lot more to overcome some bad biases. But aside from a few haters trying to stir the pot with excessive vitriol most of us realize that Hailer isn’t showing real fire in her belly and NASCAR needs to do more than just hype one woman at a time (or due to their social media numbers). Maybe Hailee has more to show is but the first have of the season hasn’t done anything to make me expect much more from the second half of the season. And fans can’t want it more than the driver does. 🤷🏻‍♂️.

The promise and potential of Hailie Deegan was that she was gonna set the world on fire. lol.

She was supposed to be the one. And anyone on here who has even offered constructive criticism has had insults and labels thrown at them.

If you scroll through all 65 pages, you’ll see a ton of goalpost moving from the same people who now say they never thought she would win.

She has another year and a half to go on her contract. We are counting on you and the rest of the clown car to get us to 100 pages. Thank you for your contributions. At least it is a contribution to page lengths on our quest to 100. 😁

I think you are confusing fans that were supporting her and wanting her to be competitive... to setting the world on fire. I never saw any of the latter. But even if they did there wouldn't be anything wrong with that. You just can't get over the fact that she still has fans that has stuck with her and still supports her, and it eats you up inside. Don't forget I go to the podium, and I have seen the crap you have said about her down there for years. ;)

Pages of goalpost moving here. Some of yall have gone from “she’s gonna win races” to “she’s having fun and that’s all that matters.” (Plenty of backmarkers having fun that some of yall would say shouldn’t be allowed on track.)

Hailie Deegan’s antics during the wildfires was when I quit being a fan.

Why don't you show some of those posts? I, like Nitro Dude haven't seen any of what you are claiming. I don't want to call you a liar or a B.S. artist, so a bit of proof of what you say would go along way to change that. Remember the difference between fans saying they would like to see her win a race compared to "shes going to win races" . She already has won races lol.

I'm not really a "fan" of Deegan. I did like Danica, though. I think Hailie is cute and it would be good for the sport if she was competitive, but I just don't believe she has the talent to win races in NASCAR. I believe that women are at a physical disadvantage in sports, in general, when it comes to competing with men.

I think if we had more, we see women win more. When you only really have one doing it, chances are slim. Look no further than NHRA, where they are plenty of women who are competitive, and win championships even.

Wow! you actually took the time out of your amazing life to answer one of my posts. I feel honored. That being said, I live where those fires were at, and you made way more out of what she said then called for. But this isn't the place to discuss that, so I have said all I'm saying on that subject, here.

There are plenty of women who can compete. Johanna Long won the snowball derby and ran respectably in bad equipment in NASCAR. Jade Avedesian, Kaylee Bryson, Taylor Reimer are all tearing it up on dirt.

The problem is the ones getting the real shot are the ones that are Victoria’s Secret models and social media stars, not the ones actually winning a lot. Money talks in NASCAR WAY more than results, and that’s sad because if a woman came in and won a cup race or even an Xfinity or truck race, EVERYONE in the sport would benefit.

C'mon man. Some of these women are still teenagers or barely older. They are coming, some will end up in Nascar soon. Then a person can make an accurate comparison.

I meant the top three series; Cup, Xfin, Trucks.

I think NHRA is different in terms of physical demand. NHRA is more of a reaction sport whereas NASCAR takes physical training with regard to strength and endurance.
NHRA race lasts 4 seconds, NASCAR races lasts hours. I'm not saying that it can't be done but there are reasons why it hasn't been done. Those reasons go beyond funding.

I think it can be a mix of both tbh. I mean hell Danica won in IndyCar eventually. It’s like the odds of the 1 woman in a field of 30 plus men is slim. I truly believe if you had a few more, at least maybe 5 or 6, eventually one of them would pull it off.

I will die on the hill that Johanna Long could have been a regular playoff driver in Xfinity if she had the right equipment. She straight up beat Danica on multiple occasions when Danica had JRM equipment.

Her career is one of the more tragic NASCAR stories, she deserved A LOT better than she got.

When I think of a Victoria's Secret model, Hailie Deegan doesn't come to mind. She is far from being ugly, but she isn't that good looking either. And her voice and laugh are atrocious. But she always shows a lot of great fun filled energy and she seems like she is a pretty decent girl in general that is a pretty good role model for younger girls. Actually, the fact that her performance isn't stellar but yet she still keeps her head up and in good spirits and doesn't give up is very good for the younger girls to see. IMO

It's a case in point that the ones who say Deegan is only in Nascar because of her popularity when drivers like Long with potential tons of talent but didn't make it miss the point. Pages of pages prove it lol. It's very hard to attract sponsorship when there is so much push back. Sexism is alive and well. Deegan along with Danica are modern day leaders for women in Nascar. More will come and hopefully it will become easier for women to compete.
