County screws me out of job, car, home and life.

They've got evidence to prove I've been watching porn on the computers, and visiting "militant extremist websites" citing a website where several threats against President Obama (who I voted for and support) were posted. I was ready to come to blows with the dude at HR in this meeting. This was after their last attempt to fire me backfired.

The websites they pulled up, I've never seen in in my entire life.

The logs were all text file printouts -- very easy to manipulate.

They also had several pieces of software on my computers designed to bypass the filters. Again, I never heard of them. So I asked them to show me when the software was installed and when it was last used. Bosslady and head of Tech Department said that was not possible. At this point, I was not authorized to use a county computer to show them it is possible.

:bsflag:1

At this point, HR moved to their second piece, my driving record. There's good news. :sarcasm:

Now, mind you, the State rejected a court order to take two points off my license. But that's beside the point. They said those three points on my license meant they did not have to pay me mileage for any of the driving I was required to do between work sites -- meaning I now fund county work out of my pocket. They also said I could not do deliveries and could no longer drive to or park at CCPS Facilities.

:bsflag:2

Because I'm the only person to ever get a speeding ticket. :sarcasm: They said "The MVA notified us you were an at-risk driver."

Dude at HR said "I don't know how I could live with myself if I were you. You have an atrocious driving record (I was pulled over on the interstate doing 70 in a 55 while being passed in three lanes by oncoming traffic:rolleyes:). You clearly don't do ANY work. (This explains why other people are far more deep in **** than I am)" and

.

I was pissed, and I wanted to punch the dude out. But I left on "Administrative leave" and drove home to go print some documents. But my access to Employee Services has already been terminated, as has my email access. So, I've essentially been terminated and am just awaiting the word that I'm fired.

I spoke with an attorney this afternoon -- he told me they had to build up a case (that they didn't have) since they're government. Either way, he said it's Maryland and fighting it would prolong the inevitable. He said I might have a chance if I had a hearing, but that would create a hostile environment and I would be gone for any microscopic mistake anyways.

Add to this, I've gotten a fine in the mail. I have 5 days to pay a $60 fine (for an unlisted citation) or my license will be suspended. I went to the courthouse, they told me to go to the MVA. Went to the MVA, and they told me to go to the courthouse. Courthouse says all they can do is accept the money.

:bsflag:4

And I've also been notified that (since I'm living with one of my relatives who unjustly owes $1000/month child support:confused:) my $3,000 tax return has been intercepted by the County.

:bsflag:5

Bad day? No, not me. :sarcasm:

seems to me several of us on the board have advised you to look for another place of employment. quit bellyaching, get off your ass and do something productive. nobody wants to hear cry me a river from people that can help their own situation but are too busy feeling sorry for themselves to do anything.

bp impersonation over <g>

Regardless of your driving record if you used your vehicle to perform your job there's no way they don't owe you for the mileage incurred.

The computer stuff is tricky, how do they know and can they prove it was you using that terminal at the times listed? Be nice to show them your mileage log to prove you were out of the office.

How does the state reject a legal court order?

How does the county take your tax refund to settle a relatives child support?

I would seriously consult another attorney, one familar with employment laws. It sounds from what you've said you might have a case for unlawful termination.

Luck

This seems impossible.

This seems impossible.

I called today. They said it was done in error and that I should get it in a week.

The job, is a loss. I'm resigning effective June 16th and using up all my personal leave until then.

I guess I failed to see where they screwed you out of your life, home or car. Job sure. Ok, you got points but that doesn't keep you from driving. Home I don't understand at all. But, feel free to post more information. There's nothing better than reading about other people's problems to make one realize their own troubles aren't so bad after all. :D

(And don't let others see this but maybe you should take Mag up on his offer of moving to Texas. With the size of his new house 1 more body shouldn't be a problem).

I realized Maryland is screwed up beyond all repair when I drove through there on Saturday on the way to Dover.

$38.00 to drive a Ford F-350 dually with a 48 ft. 3 axle trailer across the Susquehanna bridge on I-95. That is just obscene!

I ended up paying a total of $62.50 in tolls between Saturday and Sunday between Maryland and Delaware.

Too bad because other than Baltimore, the place was really nice when I lived there between '76 and '80.

Andy, get a clue and move! It is what I did back in December of '79. I could see it by just how bad the traffic was getting between Fredrick and Bethesda every day. In '76 it took me 45 minutes to drive the 35 miles. At the end of '79 it was taking 1 hour and 15 minutes for the same trip. And the taxes were starting to climb even back then.

I moved to NC and have been here ever since. Too bad we are being overrun with liberals now.

Guido bite your friggin tongue. We don't want to give Andy even an inkling that NC is still accepting DYs...

Mike: this was what someone said the other day about our Andy. ;)

Andy we'd offer you residency in Tn but this end of the state aren't taking transplants now. If anything opens up we will be sure to let you know.;)
