How many cars are a team allowed to run in total during a WRC event?

I had read a piece on the rules that said it was 3, but during the Africa stages, Puegeot had both Rovenpera and Panizzi running with Marcus(Well, briefly) and Richard. Just wondering if the rules I read were incorrect or, if they were allowed to substitute another car to replace Marcus, as he went out so early in the rally, or if it's something else altogether.

I am pretty sure teams can run up to 3 cars in a rally event. Although some teams like puegot and ford do run three, other dont.

its my understandign that they can let as many drivers as they want to let drive but i'm pretty sure they have to pick two for the whole season that can score manufacturers points...just thougt i'd add that

yea impreza, i think your right, they can run as many cars as they want but only get points for two of their cars, being of course the two that score highest in points pending of course if they finish in the top six.
