* The only driver to post a race win at New Hampshire and win the Cup championship in the same year is Jeff Gordon, and he's done it three times (1995, 1997, 1998.)

* To take it a little further, every season in which Jeff has posted a finish of 2nd or better at NHIS, he has won the championship (1995, 1997, 1998, and 2001.) Every year he has failed to post a finish of 2nd or better at NHIS, he has failed to win the championship.
Jeff finished 2nd at NHIS earlier this year.
