This is an interesting article but mostly, I was curious what anyone thought of the judge's ruling, or even the original reason for the legal action taken in civil court.

I'm sorry for the woman who lost her husband, but I do not believe that a bar has a responsibility to stop someone from driving.
I do believe they should have taken away that last drink, but as far as taking his keys away, no.
We are in an age when everything that happens is "someone's else's fault."
My other pet peeve is people wanting to sue gun manufacturers for millions because a low-life used one to kill.

I agree the bar has no right to take the mans keys. But I don't agree with the judge over ruleing the jury after they handed a verdick. If you do that why have a jury.
What I think is crazy is people sueing fast food places because their fat. Did Ronald Mc donalds hold a gun to fatboys head and make hin eat that big mac.

It all comes down to people not taking responsibility for their very own actions. Like TRL said.
And then we get a politically correct jury that believes that it's not the guilty party's job to take the responsibility because he/she is impaired in some way......so now it's someone's else fault. That works perfectly with the fat boy and McDonalds too. It's our legal system that's beginning to fail us........it's corrupted with political correctness at almost every angle. And I believe we can all thank all those "super open minded" types. All those inclusive types. All those who think a nice pat on the head is going to solve all the problems instead of a hard whack on the butt.
