I was at a couple of different sites and they said that kurt got his laps penalty because of something he said- or something unsportsmanship~anyone hear anything about it??

No, was dying to know what he did to get all those penalties. But man, they were laying them down on him pretty thick.

He was talking bad to the nascar officials after he ran into some body in pit road- think it was the 31~ would have loved to hear that

That reminds me of that race where he came out and said that he needed a caution so he spun the guy in front of him.

So true, Nascar said they like to do the penalties at the time instead of fines.

I still find it funny that people were unable to pick up on the sarcasm in Busch's statement about needing a caution.

glad you said that, I was beginning to think I was alone in thinking Kurt was jsut having fun with the press. Reckon ya can't fool around in front of the camera without getting burned.

Thank God, I am NOT alone. I actually thought it was funny when he said that, as he intended.

The way I understand it, he got together with another car on pit road. Tore out and ran the stop sign at the end of pit road. Was brought in for a penalty stop. When he went out he apparently discussed at length, and in detail, the family history of NASCAR officials. Hence, the 2 lap penalty.

Nascar sure thought he was serious. But a little fine didnt do anything.

You can't even kiddingly say you took someone out on purpose thus the fine after the Winston. As for Saturday night, Kurt was suffering from a severe case of road rage. He wanted a relief driver because he wasn't going to drive around all night with his hands up his a**. He was using every 4 letter word he knew in every sentence. He threatened to run over the official working his pit, he made an obscene gesture to the official and yelled out the window at him-all of this was ignored but on the radio he told his crew chief to tell NASCAR they could lick his expletive deleted, expletive deleted balls. Then he was told he was being listened to but he didn't care. He said he was going back out and cause an accident that would take out half the field. Jimmy Fennig told him over and over to hush but he wouldn't. He again said he was going to bring out a red flag by causing an accident to take out half the field. Penalty grew and grew. He wasn't going back out until the team had him under control and he cooled off.

Busch is an idiot. And he did spin Gordon on purpose...

Thanks for the info Widda,

Had heard bits and pieces of questionable accuracy. Sounds like a tantrum of ballistic proportions.

Threatening to deliberately cause the "big one" crosses a line in my book.

Kurt better quit letting his honest emotions slip past his tongue. He is just saying what most only think at any given time.

Thanks, NASCARWidow.

HS, I'm with you. Threatening to cause a "big one" crossed the line.

pbunch, he probably was saying what a lot of drivers think. But, if you're just thinking, it's private property, but when you say it out loud, it's public property. NASCAR had to put the foot down.

Wow, I didn't know that Kurt had such a loose tounge on the radio. You can't go around saying things like that. That's people's lives your talking about when your racing at those speeds. NASCAR did the right thing and for once I applaud their actions when it comes to giving out penalties. Good job NASCAR.:calpping:

TRL,I do agree Nascar did the right thing, but once again they should be consistant.I reamember Childress had a few threats for Kurt earlier this year. Was that not meant to do serious damage to someone,or many.

Without going back and looking the quotes up, I recall most of Richard's being more of a "behind the woodshed" type of deal. Not he same thing at all IMO.

My understanding is that Jack Rousch came down and personally apologized to the officials himself. I wouldn't want to be Kurt when Jack gets hold of him. What NASCAR did won't even compare to the tongue lashing his owners gonna give him!
