Cup RACE thread --- Kansas

Larson was wrecked out of 3 wins last year. Lol
And the way he races is why.

Larson uses every inch of track and then some, and he’s not afraid of making contact.

We’ve seen Larson put guys in the wall when he’s on the bottom.

I don’t think the finish was dirty. But I don’t want to hear any whining when someone does the same to him.

The only people whining are the people who whine about people who haven't yet whined whenever Larson has a bit of contact.

It's really not a big deal.

Everyone’s too blinded by their Hendrick fandom to get the point.

Best finish in history. Hard racing. Not dirty. Don’t know how many times I have to say I think it was good hard racing.

But half of yall will be outraged the first time someone door slams Larson.

Im not saying Larson was right or wrong, but hopefully his fans keep the same energy if and when it’s done to him. All I’ll say on that subject.

Didn't he get finessed by Hamlin, Chastain and Bubba a bunch of times already? Larson has lost out more wins because of crashes by none of his making by an unhealthy amount.

C'mon man, I consider myself a casual NASCAR watcher these days, dont let me win that argument with you. :lol2:

I was happy Chase won, and it’s more than okay when he wins. Some here don’t like Larson, it don’t bother me really it’s all in fun. But the whining and crying when Larson wins it’s wild. They blame the way he races, he’s dirty and tonight I saw the way the Finish Line was painted was why the 5 won.

I've never seen it.

In fact, the only time I ever see this is when people dominant discussions with this narrative every time.

You're throwing shade at fans of today's winner for no reason.

Surely you see how crummy that is, right?

I’m not in the mood to get into a back and forth. It’s why I said it be my only comment. So no argument to even be won, because there isn’t one

Points after Kansas. Buescher up 3 spots, Bell up 4

I'd imagine losing a race like that, especially when speed has been far and few between, is akin to losing a loved one in that moment.

At the same time, Ford has been lagging for speed, and the 17 was probably a top 4 car today.

Even though Buescher came up a micro hair short, he should still feel pretty darn good to have came that close to beating one of the best drivers in the world to have ever sat in a race car.
He probably feels the same way if it's anybody else. These guys are some of the best race car drivers in the world, including Buescher himself.

Kudos to Cliff Daniels for always wearing his rubber wedding band to work, and never wearing the real thing.

I don't even know where my rubber one is. Feel naked without the real thing.

I literally said Kyle Larson gets raced dirty, and even more literally said what he did tonight was good hard racing. That's actually exactly what I said to trigger this.

You said “this is why Larson gets raced dirty” implying he raced Buescher dirty. Your boy Chastain has a lot of casualties off his front end and right side. Nobody’s complaining but you.

I've literally said, four or five times, that Larson's move wasn't dirty. LOL.

Y'all are grasping at straws to miss the point.

Buescher raced Larson super clean, Larson pulled off one of the single greatest moves in the history of auto racing to draw even. Larson then bodyslams Buescher twice. Buescher could've wrecked him and didn't. But the aggressive driving style exhibited by Larson is why other drivers have done him dirty.

Your boy Chastain has a lot of casualties off his front end and right side.

Did I say otherwise?

LOL. Fox missed another last lap crash.

But hey, at least they rushed to hit the play button on that UFL rerun.

My wife was like "what the hell is this, I don't want to watch this"

She's not a sports fan, and never has much to say. But for her to say "what the hell is this" certainly tells us just how irrelevant that UFL rerun is.

I had to turn it off. Not only was it deflating for Fox to rush to tape within a few minutes of the greatest finish in NASCAR history, but the UFL is god awful. It's like watching the 2021 Jaguars play against the 2008 Lions.

Just a little over a month until NBC mercifully takes over.

Elliott has a top 2 avg finish, a win, 3rd in points, and 5 top 5s in the last 6 races.

He's entirely back to form this year.

I think it's fair to say that Elliott and Larson are still the two top dogs at HMS. Who knew.
3 wins for Byron so far

3 wins for Byron so far

And 3rd in points, and 0 championships.

Byron lucking into 3 or 4 wins last year, finishing behind his teammate in the championship, and then and having a hot start this year doesn't put him above his champion teammate both who rank above him

Still just a tick off but they've almost figured it out. That kind of consistency even without wins can carry you a long way in the playoffs if they can maintain it - which is unlikely to this degree, but showing they can still do it is an important part of the process.

Elliott is in third place in the points. I don't get the pessimism myself. The Hendrick cars are strong on the 1.5's, and more are on the way.

No doubt they have absolutely earned their place in points, I just think like most everyone they'd like to be at the front leading more laps. On the flip side though they're near the front for a lot of these late restarts which these days wins you more races than leading laps does.

I couldn't agree more....Like Kansas last year...right? Jesus Christ....somehow we vilify Hamlin for pushing Larson up, but when Larson takes two shots at Buescher...just what the **** do we call that? Larson has gotten everything he deserves....and I think he has one coming from Buescher.

Kansas last year? Lol, you mean when Hamlin couldn't pass without wrecking Larson? No comparison. But it makes sense in rice burner world I suppose. What happened tonight? Maybe next year...not tonight lol.

Copious amounts of nocturnal emissions from 5 fanbois tonight.
Tommorow morning will bring a plethora of decorated bedsheets flapping in the wind, drying out like so many fan flags...

Another awesome Sunday spent at Kansas Speedway! There's never been a time where I didn't enjoy myself while at this track (Even when my driver doesn't have a good race.) Everything about this place is always top notch! But how about that finish!?!? My brother and his kids left with 15 laps to go because he said the final few laps are usually boring. Well, the ending to this one was anything but that. To his defense, he doesn't watch auto racing. The rain this weekend was only a minor disruption, but I'm glad they were able to get the race in tonight so I could make the 2 1/2 hour drive back to Wichita and be at home with my fur child during the severe weather episode on Monday. I had an objective this weekend to take a good panoramic photo of the track, which I did...and I plan on either having it printed as a banner size or as a split canvas. Those two guys just kept standing unfortunately. I wonder if I can find someone to photoshop them out of the picture? I'll probably print it on both to see which I like better. Can't wait to get it printed and see how it turns out!

I'm honestly stoked that people have been enjoying the racing at Kansas Speedway as of late. Now do people agree to this track having two races each season? I wouldn't go that far, but I'm certainly all for it!
